Levin’s Spring Itinerary

  • Boy playing with toys on table

    Morning

I like to go to the Artisan Bakery & Cafe and order a Cruffin. It’s an amazing croissant made in a muffin tin and then coated with sugar and filled with pastry cream! They also have a really good breakfast croissant sandwich called a Degrizzle. After breakfast, I like to walk around town and visit the different shops. My favorite shops in town are Ouray Booksellers, where you can hide in the tent and read. Ray’s Jerky, where you can get free samples, and I love to just hang out and play with the games and toys at O’Toys. Another fun activity is climbing at Ouray Adventure Center. You’ll have to make sure you stop by Mouse’s Chocolates too for a Belgian Hot Chocolate and Scrap Cookie. These cookies have all the different candy “scraps” in the dough so you never know exactly what will be in your cookie, but they are so good!

    Afternoon

For lunch, my absolute favorite place is Maggie’s Kitchen. They are always voted “best burger in town” and it’s fun to draw on the walls with sharpie. I always get a single burger with cheese and fries. It’s the best! After lunch, I like to walk down to the fish pond at the Hot Springs Pool and feed the fish and turtles, play for a bit at Fellin Park, and then take a walk along the Uncompaghre River Trail to see how many new seasonal waterfalls we can find. Make sure you visit Box Cañon Falls and Cascade Falls too! A great snack place is Goldbelt Bar & Grill. I love the mozzarella sticks, but their pizzas and burgers are really good for dinner too!

  • Life guard high fiving boy on waterslide

    Evening

For dinner, I like to go to Brickhouse 737 and get the kid’s Elk Bolognese Pasta. It’s got big flat noodles and a meat and tomato sauce that is amazing. Make sure you get the Campfire S’Mores that you can roast at the table or the Cast-Iron Peanut Butter Cookie with Chocolate Gelato for dessert! After dinner is the best time to go to the Hot Springs Pool to play while the sun goes down and the stars come out. It’s the best way to end a perfect day!
